Ask any superintendent or school leader what they value most
about the district they serve, and they'll likely mention outstanding staff, a
strong administrative team, sound finances, parental involvement, and an
effective school board. Each of these factors are part of a successful school
district. But just as important, and often at the very top of the list, is the
community
Educators know that strong schools are built by strong
communities. When communities support their schools, opportunities for students
expand and everyone benefits. Students who are better prepared for post-secondary
learning and entry into the workforce. The partnership between a school
district and its community is a strong indicator of long-term success. It is
the people in the community who step up at the right time, to support the
school when it is needed most, that make a difference.
I am grateful to be part of a community that believes in investing
time, talent and resources to ensure we can provide a safe, efficient, and
effective learning environment for our students and staff. The support demonstrated by our community fosters
an environment that allows us to experience success today that will continue in
the future.
